A $10,000 bond was set Monday for a Grady man accused of hitting an elderly man in a dispute over money.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge John Traywick, 37, with second-degree battery.

Prosecuting Attorney S. Kyle Hunter said the allegation is based on an affidavit from police which reported that on Sunday, police were sent to a residence on Carbon Street.

Traywick was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Nov. 10.
