Battalion Chief Harold Clark Jr. Honored for 26 Years of Service During Retirement Celebration

Family, friends and fellow firefighters recently gathered to honor Harold Clark Jr. during a retirement celebration recognizing his 26 years of service with Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Department.

Clark retired as Battalion Chief of A Shift after more than two decades serving the Pine Bluff community. The event also celebrated his next career move as Assistant Fire Chief with the Little Rock Fire Department.

During the ceremony, family members, coworkers and fire service leaders reflected on Clark’s leadership, mentorship and commitment to public safety. Speakers shared stories about his work with younger firefighters and his dedication to the department throughout his career.

Among those attending were Michael Doan and retired Fire Chief and Commissioner Greg Summers, who both recognized Clark’s contributions to the fire service.

The evening included remarks from colleagues and family members, along with dinner, music and fellowship. A quote featured in the program summed up the respect shown throughout the event: “All men are created equal, then a few become firemen.”

Clark’s transition to Little Rock marks a new chapter in a career many described as dedicated to service, leadership and the Pine Bluff community. Firefighters attending the celebration said his impact will continue through the many people he mentored during his time with the department.
