A $15,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man previously convicted of a felony who was arrested after a handgun was found in his possession.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Patrick Johnson, 21, with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The allegation is based on an affidavit by Detective Jason Boykin who wrote that on Thursday, Boykin and other officers had gone to an apartment on Olive Street looking for another individual wanted for aggravated assault.

Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin then explained the allegation.

Johnson was told to come back to court July 2.
