Teams were searching in Faulkner County into the night yesterday after receiving a tip on the whereabouts of escapee Grant Hardin. Hardin, a former police chief in Benton County, escaped from a prison in Calico Rock on Sunday. A $10,000 reward is being offered. Hardin is serving time for murder and rape and is considered to be armed and extremely dangerous. The Faulkner County Sheriff’s office has been following a tip that led them to an area of Highway 65 and Cadron Bridge. That area was eventually cleared, but authorities still believe he is in Northern Arkansas.
The weather has hurt search efforts. Authorities say at this point he has “nothing to lose”. Hardin has been labeled the “Devil in The Ozarks” and called a sociopath who “has already proven he has no moral core”. If you think you spot Hardin, you are asked to call 911 immediately.
