As Independence Day approaches, the City of Pine Bluff is reminding residents that fireworks are prohibited within city limits. According to city ordinance Sec. 10-1, it is illegal to manufacture or sell fireworks wholesale in Pine Bluff. Additionally, discharging fireworks is considered a misdemeanor offense, punishable by a fine of up to $50 per incident.
The only exception is for permitted public displays sponsored by civic or patriotic organizations and approved by both the fire and police departments, typically during Independence Day or similar holidays. Unauthorized use of fireworks is not only illegal but also poses a safety and noise risk to the community.
Listen live to patriotic music July 4th during the local firework show at Regional Park at 9:00pm on KPBA 99.3 – The Beat.
