The Lincoln County Quorum Court said goodbye to two of its members during a meeting Dec. 21.

According to the Lincoln Ledger newspaper, appreciation plaques were presented to Burl D. Robertson, who had served for 20 years, and Billy Jack Curry, who served for two years. They will be replaced in January by Jeff Frizzell and Bill Dowdy.

The newspaper reported that the justices of the peace approved a 2021 budget of $6,818,253.06. County Judge Buddy Earnest said the county received over $636,000 in federal CARES ACT funding and asked that the money be put into the general fund until he can get information on what it can be spent on.

He said the County Road Department has received $173,000 in disaster funds for the Easter storm cleanup.

Sheriff Leonard Hogg reported that over 60 percent of the work on the new county detention center has been completed. He said the doors and windows are in and the painting is done, and work is currently underway on electrical and electronics inside the jail.

Earnest said the project is on time and still under budget.
