At its meeting Tuesday, the Pine Bluff City Council approved a resolution accepting the donation of a former baseball field in Ward 3 to the city.

Council member Lanette Frazier sponsored the resolution and talked about her plans for the area when she appeared on the Oldies 1013 morning show Friday.

Frazier said she saw the field while driving around the area and knew it was not owned by the city so she talked to Mayor Shirley Washington who told her that the BRAVE, the black firefighters organization, owned the park so she contacted BRAVE president Mozell Gibson and talks between them began.

Frazier also talked about her vision for the park.

She also said she could not do all the things she wanted to with just her $25,000.
