Jefferson County Quorum Court may finally see some progress

One of the biggest trouble makes on the Jefferson Count Quorum County was beaten easily Tuesday night during the Democratic Party primary.

Lloyd Franklin Jr., was defeated by former Justice of the Peace Jimmy Fisher 563 to 242.

While Franklin will be off next year, some of the others who gave County Judge Geral Robinson heartburn won another term including JP Alfred Carroll in District 1, JP Margarette Williams in District 5, JP Cedric Jackson in District 9 and JP Brenda Bishop Gaddy in District 13.

Also winning Tuesday was former Jefferson County Clerk and Robinson supporter Patricia Royal Johnson.

In another race, Glen Barnes easily beat Kanisher Wooten Caldwell for the District 65 seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives. The final but unofficial vote was 1,715 for Barnes and 935 for Caldwell. That seat is currently held by Representative Vivian Flowers, who will face incumbent Mayor Shirley Washington in a runoff.
