The Jefferson County Quorum Court approved several items on the February 2024 Agenda last evening. Among some of the items approved: An ordinance to fund The March 2024 preferential primary; an ordinance to help with funding of the County’s rural fire departments and an ordinance that provides supplemental funding to The County’s road department….that will assist that department with funds to complete Various projects.
Meanwhile, Justice Alfred Carroll offered a motion that would prohibit the County Judge’s Ability to sign off…on claims presented to department heads or against the county.
Caroll wants Justices Lloyd Franklin Jr…Margaret Williams and himself to have that Authority.
County Judge Robinson rejected that idea:
Judge Robinson says the general public is tired of all the back and forth bickering. He says
It’s time to put all of that aside….in order to conduct county business
