Because of the recent March 5th preferential primary elections, the Jefferson County Quorum Court Committee of the Whole met last night to discuss a number of issues—-including the payment of outstanding bills owed by the County’s Road Department.

Less than 20 minutes into the meeting, Justice Lloyd Franklin Jr. engaged in a number of heated discussions with several justices and the County Judge. Franklin is asking that County Judge Gerald Robinson’s office submit nearly two months of detailed invoices that the judge says that it is already available for review.

Justice Patricia Royal Johnson says Franklin’s request appears to be personal.

Justice Danny Holcomb agrees. He says Franklin’s tactics are holding up County Business:

Frustrated over Franklin’s continued disruptions, the meeting was adjourned. Franklin lost his bid for re-election on Tuesday night. He was defeated by former JP Jimmy Lee Fisher Senior by a new two-to-one margin. Fisher will be sworn-in next January.
