Deltaplex area residents that travel Highway 270 from the Hardin Community to the White Hall city limits have certainly seen construction barrels, cones, and heavy machinery in the area for the past couple of weeks as construction of the Highway 365/Highway 270 Corridor Project are underway.
Arkansas Department of Transportation District Two Engineer Drew Hoggard spoke with Deltaplex News on Tuesday to discuss the project.
Hoggard said the initial piece of the construction will feature four driving lanes and a center turning lane.
He spoke about how far the initial piece of construction will go, with work already underway in the area of Highway 270 and Highway 104 in the Hardin Community.
Once the initial project is completed two additional projects will start. That project will add passing lanes into Grant County to the Hot Spring County line.
Hoggard said the first stage of the project is expected to end in the winter of 2025.
