A Grant County man who was a patient at Jefferson Regional Hospital is in the adult detention center after he allegedly assaulted two hospital employes Monday August 7th.

Sly Collins, 29, of Grapevine, was taken into custody after police were sent to the psychiatric ward of the hospital at 5:25 p.m.

Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel told a court hearing that Collins had fought with a nurse and a security guard and Detective Corey Wilfong took a statement from the nurse.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $5,000 bond for Collins after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with two counts of second-degree battery. He was ordered to have no contact with the victims and told to come back to court Sept. 12.
