Glen Barnes explains why he wants to run for State Representative for District 65

With District 65 State Representative Vivian Flowers deciding not to seek another term, two candidates are seeking to replace her as the Democratic Party nominee.

Rev. Glen Barnes, the pastor of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church is one of them and on Wednesday, Barnes was a guest on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show where he was asked why he was seeking the position.

Barnes said he had “been a Democrat” all his life and was asked by Morning Show host Greg Horne how could he get anything done in a legislature that has a Republican super-majority?

Barnes was also asked what was the main thing he wanted to accomplish if he is elected and Barnes responded this way.

His opponent, Kanisher Wooten Caldwell will be on the Morning Show Thursday at 8:05 a.m.
