A fall shredding and recycling event is scheduled for Friday, October 26, 2018.

This will take place from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Jefferson County Recycling Center, located at 1800 East Harding Avenue in Pine Bluff (behind Pope’s Furniture).

The Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Clean & Beautiful Commission and Jefferson County Judge and County Recycling are sponsoring the project, according to a news release.

The shredding and recycling event is free to individuals, groups and businesses.  There is a limit of 10 boxes (about the size of copy paper boxes) for each person, according to the release.

The project will also accept regular recycling materials such as electronics, bottles, cardboard and newspapers.  They can accept almost anything other than wood, fabric and vacuum cleaners.  They will also offer a medication take back.

“We will also be taking donations towards helping to cover the cost of this event, so please bring your pocket change or checkbook,” a spokesman said.  “The donations will help to cover the rental fee for the shredding truck.”
