The Grant County Quorum Court has approved an additional $400,000 for the current phase of the Grant County Annex project, which is converting the former First Baptist Church on Rose Street.

According to the Sheridan Headlight newspaper, the additional money is designed to helping to pay for finishing touches to the exterior, lower back and storage areas.

When work is complete, the building will house the county assessor and collector’s office, as well as the state revenue office which will lease space from the county.

The newspaper reported that renovations have so far costs $1.28 million and the additional $400,000 will bring that total to $1.68 million.

Current renovations are expected to be completed this summer.
