On Wednesday, the ribbon was cut to officially open the Sgt. Elga Lee Roberts Veterans Service Center in Downtown Pine Bluff.
The center was the first of three projects Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson instituted just over a year ago, and the first of the three to open. Its opening was made possible in part by a $1 million donation from Simmons Bank and Regional Market President Daniel Robinson was among those who attended the ribbon cutting.

Robinson appeared on the Oldies 101.3 morning show Thursday and was asked about the thought process staying so involved in Pine Bluff since they have now branched out to major cities in surrounding states.

On another subject, Robinson was asked his thoughts on inflation and interest rates, specifically do bankers try to predict what’s going to happen or just take things as they come.
