A Cleveland County Jury found Timothy Sled guilty on a felony charge of impairing the operation of a vital public facility as well as first-degree criminal mischief after he was accused of shooting a hole in a water tower honoring Johnny Cash in Kingsland.

The hole in the water tower caused a leak that cost the town of Kingsland around $200 per day until it was repaired, and $5,000 in repair costs in addition to the water lost due to the hole, according to Kingsland Mayor Luke Neal.

In a viral statement made on social media Sled said he is facing the maximum of 16 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for his crimes, and that he is taking blame for a crime committed by another person. He also stated in a comment on the post that he was offered five years of probation for one felony charge, but turned the offer down before his court date in which he was found guilty by the jury.

Sled has been order to pay a $5,000 fine for each count he was found guilty on, $5,000 in restitution, and $500 in court costs for a sum of $15,500 total.

Sled has until April 11, 2023 to pay the full amount or he will be taken into custody.
