One of the most closely watched races for a position on the Jefferson County Quorum Court this year is the battle for District 13, which covers all the land across the Arkansas River and incudes Altheimer, Wabbaseka, Tucker, Sherill, Moscow, Linwood and a number of other small communities.

Incumbent Brenda Bishop Gaddy is being challenged by Volunteer firefighter and miliary veteran Bruce Carman. Both are Democrats.

Carman was a recent guest on Talk Back Live with Floyd Donald and was asked why he was running for the position.

Donald told Carman that Gaddy had opposed money for volunteer fire departments and military veterans

And asked Carman his feelings about that.

Donald said Gaddy was part of what he called the Shady 8 who have opposed everything County Judge

Gerald Robinson proposed last year and are doing the same thing this year.
