WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, highlighted the capacity of southeast Arkansas to support the industrial base in a hearing Tuesday with Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin II.

“Camden, Arkansas is a major player [in munition production] and they’re working very hard. The people of Arkansas, the people of Camden have really stepped up,” Boozman said.

The defense industry has invested in the community making it home to production of some of the most effective weapon systems and munitions in the world. The missiles and rockets serve as the backbone to the arsenal of democracy. Camden serves a vital role in fulfilling our national security needs now and in the future.

Boozman has helped secure investments for major defense production operations in Camden and continues to promote the city and workforce. Last week RTX announced it is investing $33 million in a new manufacturing facility in the community to build a modern air defense capability for the U.S. Marine Corps and expand production capacity for Israel’s long-term air defense.
