A $3,500 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man accused of pointing a gun at a woman during an altercation Saturday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Jimmy Fisher Jr., 41, with aggravated assault.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Detective DeShawn Bennett, Deputy Prosecutor Carol Billings said at 11:43 a.m., an officer was sent to a reported disturbance at a house in the 4600 block of Faucett Road.

The female victim said she had received what she described as a “disturbing phone call” about her mother’s fiancée and went to check on her welfare. She said when she arrived at the house, she met Fisher in the yard, and they argued. She said her husband got out of the vehicle to try and defuse the situation and Fisher pushed her husband and pushed her.

Bennett reported that the victim said Fisher went into the house and then came back outside with a shotgun that he pointed at her. She was able to get in her vehicle and leave and then called 911. Witnesses to the incident confirmed the woman’s account.

Fisher said he would hire his own attorney and was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled.
