A $5,000 bond was set Monday for two women accused of breaking into the movie theater at the closed Pines Mall on Saturday.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Mary Durham, 49, of Star City and Tracy Hicks, 56, of Pine Bluff with commercial burglary.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Detective Tamina Smith, Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King explained the circumstances leading to the arrest.

King said Hicks has no prior convictions or pending charges while Durham was convicted of a residential burglary in 2011. Durham told the court that the charge had been reduced to misdemeanor criminal trespass.

The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent Durham and Hicks and they were told to come back to court on Dec. 20.
