A $10,000 secured bond was set for a Pine Bluff man accused of acting erratically and beating people and property with a baseball bat.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge 53-year-old Christopher Cook with 2nd Degree Domestic Battery, Terroristic Threatening, and Criminal Mischief.

Reading from an affidavit, Prosecuting Attorney Ty Spradlin said on June 8th Officer Ryan Ramirez was dispatched to a home in reference to an armed disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who stated that Cook was acting and speaking erratically, talking to himself throughout the evening, and walking around the residence with a baseball bat even going as far as to strike 2 of the victim’s vehicles parked out back.

The victim was on a bench in front of her bed when Cook struck her with the bat 5 times and threatened Murder-Suicide. Officers observed her injuries as well as damage to her cars.

Cook has no prior felonies. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and is scheduled to return to court.
