A $2,500 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man accused of stealing a trailer.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Kenneth Hackett Jr., 41, with theft of property.
Reading from an affidavit by Detective Corey Wilfong, a deputy prosecutor said on Saturday at 4:45 p.m., police were sent to 1217 S. Ohio St., in response to a reported armed disturbance.
Police reported that the address was not valid and located the caller at 1208 E. 9th Ave. The female victim said a male she knew at Kenney agreed to do some work for her at a location on West 27th Avenue which included installing ceiling fans and mowing the yard.
Wilfong arrived at the scene where he confirmed the victim’s statements and that neither the trailer or generator were transferred to Kenny.
Hackett was told to come back to court Jan. 6, 2026.
