Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson has issued a formal veto of several ordinances that were approved during a special called meeting of the Quorum Court held on September 23, 2025.

In a letter dated October 24 to County Clerk Shawndra Taggart, Robinson wrote, “I hereby veto ordinances 2025-31 through 2025-37 that passed out of the Quorum Court meeting which occurred on September 23, 2025. Out of abundance of caution because I question the validity of the called meeting.”

The veto underscores ongoing tensions within the Jefferson County Quorum Court, where disputes over procedure and authority have led to multiple special meetings in recent weeks.
