Sickle Cell Anemia is a crippling blood disease that quite often lead to An early death. Although it mainly affects African Americans, the disease also affects people of Indian descent, Middle Easterners and folk from the Mediterranean region as well. Worldwide, it’s estimated that more than three hundred million people are affected.
Here in Pine Bluff, a new group, known as the Sick of The Cell Organization is trying to educated the public about this dreaded disease, especially the young.

Sickle Cell anemia is a hereditary disease that destroys the Body’s red cell by causing those cells to take on an abnormal sickle shape. According to medical experts, there is no known cue for most people with sickle cell. Watson says her Support group may be reached at (870) 209-2306.
