Jacqueline Tillmon Announces Candidacy for Justice of the Peace District 1 in Jefferson County

Jacqueline Tillmon has officially announced her candidacy for Justice of the Peace, District 1, where she will be running against current Justice of the Peace Alfred Carroll in the upcoming election.

A lifelong resident of Jefferson County, Tillmon brings a strong background in legal work and community involvement to her campaign. She is a graduate of South Suburban College with an ABA-approved paralegal certification and has worked with law firms including Chadick Law Firm and Warren Law Firm in Pine Bluff, as well as Swanson Martin & Bell, LLP in Chicago.

Through her professional experience, Tillmon says she has gained extensive knowledge of procedural law and believes that a Justice of the Peace must uphold the law with integrity and fairness.

“My vision for Jefferson County is one of prosperity, accountability, and renewed trust in our local government,” Tillmon said. “I will work to ensure the county maintains a balanced budget, improve our roads and infrastructure, and foster partnerships to attract businesses and create jobs.”

Tillmon has held leadership roles as Vice President and Membership Chairperson of the Arkansas Association of Legal Assistants, President of the Jefferson County Association of Legal Assistants, and President of the National Association of Legal Secretaries. She is also a member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Sherrill, Arkansas.

On a personal note, she is married to Roy Tillmon and has three children: Natasha Prudhomme, Branden Brown, and Braxton Brown.

“I look forward to the opportunity to serve and to earn your trust as Justice of the Peace for District 1,” Tillmon said.
