A single-vehicle crash in rural Cleveland County Tuesday evening claimed the lives of two men and left a third seriously injured.
According to a report from the Arkansas State Police, the accident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on July 22 along Highway 63 near Oak Grove Road, just south of the Woodlawn community. The vehicle, a 2024 Dodge Ram, was traveling south when it veered off the roadway, struck a culvert and a driveway, and became airborne. The truck then collided with a utility pole, overturned, and struck two trees.
38-year-old Justin Patrick Owen of Pine Bluff and 36-year-old Joshua Clay Dickey of Star City were both passengers in the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene by the Cleveland County Coroner’s Office.
The driver, 61-year-old Jerry Wayne Dickey of College Station, Texas, was seriously injured and airlifted to a Little Rock hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No additional vehicles were involved.
