A $25,000 cash only bond was set Wednesday for a detainee at the adult detention center accused of stabbing another inmate during an altercation.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Jason Lawrence, 23, with second-degree battery and possession or use of a weapon by an incarcerated person.
Jail records showed that Lawrence has been held since Nov. 7, 2023 on charges of aggravated robbery, committing a terroristic act, theft of property and has a pending hearing on revoking his probation.
During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel explained the new allegations against Lawrence.
Lawrence was told to come back to court July 2.
