A North Little Rock man has been arrested after being caught riding a mini motorcycle that was reported stolen on September 19.
According to a report, Desha County Deputy Eric Armstrong was dispatched to Hwy 54 to take a theft report of the motorcycle on September 19. The victim reported that he had a mini motorcycle stolen and provided a photo of the mini motorcycle to Armstrong.
At 10:04 p.m. on the same day Armstrong was patrolling on Hwy 65 in Dumas when he observed a subject riding a mini motorcycle that matched the description of the one reported stolen a few hours earlier. When Deputy Armstrong attempted a traffic stop on the mini motorcycle, the subject then fled onto Waterman Street, to College Street, then onto Main Street, running through numerous stop signs. The subject then continued to flee toward Mitchellville at a top speed of 45 mph.
Deputy Austin Freeman was in the Mitchellville area and drove toward Dumas. When the fleeing driver, who was later identified as 30-year-old Kendrick Alexander of North Little Rock, reached Deputy Freeman, he rode the mini motorcycle into the ditch and crashed.
Alexander was taken into custody without further incident. The mini motorcycle sustained no damage and was returned to the owner.
Alexander was transported to the Dumas City Jail and booked for Theft, Felony Fleeing, and Parole Violations.
