Representatives of Tulsa based Oasis Fresh Market confirmed Friday that they will be locating a grocery store in Pine Bluff.
Charles Harper and Gloria Warren joined First Ward City Council Member LaTisha Brunson on Oldies 1013 Friday and was asked directly if the company was locating a store on the east side of the city, then was joined by Brunson.
Brunson went on to say this.
Getting a grocery store on the east side of the city to replace Super 1 Foods, which left in 2022 has been a major focus for Brunson, who wants to get rid of the Food Desert that currently exists.
The city recently received a $10,000 grant to help with that.
Brunson and company representatives declined to identify where the store will be located but admitted they had looked at the former Super 1 Food store in the Broadmoor Shopping Center.
