A $75,000 cash only bond was set Wednesday for a White Hall man accused of stealing a truck and trailer.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Heath Ludwig, 29, with theft of property.

Reading from an affidavit by Jefferson County Sheriff’s Investigator Tyler Gibbons, Deputy Prosecutor Britaney Akel said on Feb. 21 at 8:30 a.m., deputies were sent to Highway 79 north near Dollar General in response to a stolen vehicle recovery report.

In addition to this allegation, Ludwig has three pending cases all from last year. Two of those are drug related and the third is a theft allegation, He was told to come back to court April 3.
