The Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court paid a visit to Jefferson County Friday where he spoke with other judges, as well as attorneys.
Judge John Dan Kemp has announced he will be retiring at the end of next year after serving for eight years as chief justice, and before that as a circuit judge.
Deltaplex News caught up with Judge Kemp and asked him why he came to Pine Bluff.
In Arkansas, all judges, including those on the Supreme Court are elected and over the past few elections, large sums of money have been spent by various groups trying to influence the outcome of those elections. Kemp was asked his thoughts on that and if he was concerned.
