A reported armed disturbance at a residence in Reydell Saturday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a Stuttgart woman on multiple charges.

Crystal May, 47, will have to post a $1,500 bond to be released from the adult detention center after Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth ruled Monday prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with aggravated assault, first-degree terroristic threatening, third-degree battery and being a felon in possession of a firearm because of previous convictions.

Reading from an affidavit by Sheriff’s Investigator Sandra Harper, Deputy Prosecutor Karres Manning explained the allegations against May.

The victim told deputies May’s husband had taken the shotgun and thrown it in a nearby ditch and deputies were able to locate the gun in the ditch.

May, who has prior convictions for forgery and possession of drug paraphernalia, was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled and said she would hire her own attorney.
