A $7,500 bond was set Tuesday for a Pine Bluff man on drug and weapons charges.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Markevis Rodgers, 20, with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King explained the circumstances that led to Rodgers arrest.

Rodgers said he would hire his own attorney and was told to come back to court Feb. 8.
