A $50,000 cash only bond was set Tuesday for a White Hall man accused of running from an Arkansas State Trooper Saturday driving a truck that had been reported stolen.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Dusty Joles, 19, with felony fleeing and theft by receiving.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said Trooper James Harrell was patrolling in the area of Barraque and Hutchison Streets.

West said there were two other passengers in the car and Joles allegedly told Harrell that “he knew better than to take a vehicle from a friend but he did it anyway.”

Joles is currently on probation on two cases and a petition has been filed to revoke that probation with no bond warrants issued. He was told to come back to court Jan. 12.
