A report of shots fired in the area of 9th and Maple Friday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a man who allegedly threatened the mother of his child.

Demarcus Brothers, 31, was taken into custody at the scene and during a court hearing Monday, was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Mike Merritt, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel told the court what Brothers is accused of.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $50,000 bond for Brothers after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault on a family or household member and terroristic threatening. He was told to come back to court Sept. 15.
