A $50,000 bond was set Tuesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of raping a juvenile female in May.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Shervy Pittman, 40, with rape.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander said on May 30, police were sent to an address on East 2nd Avenue in response to a reported sexual assault, and rape.

Alexander said Crawford has a previous conviction and he was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled. He was told to come back to court on July 25
