$35,000 bond set for two men on alleged drug, weapons, and fleeing charges

Cash-only bonds of $35,000 each were set Wednesday for two Pine Bluff me on the drug, weapons, and fleeing charges.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Shataylon Winston, 22, with theft by receiving, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver, and felony fleeing, and Marquell White, 26, felon in possession of a firearm, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver and felony fleeing.

Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King said sheriff’s deputies were in the area of 7th Avenue and Wisconsin Street Monday looking for White, who had active felony warrants when they saw him get into the passenger seat of a red vehicle. He said deputies attempted to stop the vehicle which fled at a high rate of speed.

White and Winston were taken into custody by deputies.

Both White and Winston have felony charges pending and were told to come back to court on Oct. 11.
