A Hot Springs woman was arrested Friday after she allegedly assaulted an ambulance attendant while enroute to the hospital.

Maliekque Anderson, 27, was taken into custody after the ambulance driver was able to pull over and go to the back of the ambulance to assist his partner.

During a court hearing Monday, Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed said police and ambulance personnel responded to 42nd Avenue and Southern Pines in response to a report that a woman later identified as Anderson was possibly on drugs and there was also a report of a threat of suicide.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $10,000 bond for Anderson after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with second-degree battery. She was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled.
