A $25,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff woman accused of hitting a nurse at Jefferson Regional Hospital several times.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Brandi Crist, 38, with second-degree battery.

Reading from an affidavit by Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander said on Saturday, an officer was sent to Jefferson Regional Hospital.

Court records showed that Crist has three prior felony convictions and Alexander told Kearney there was no indication she was mentally incompetent.

Crist was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Aug. 30.
