A Jefferson County woman currently on probation was arrested Friday after sheriff’s deputies found a loaded gun in the vehicle the woman was driving.

Donna Johnson, 50, of White Hall was taken into custody after deputies who were in the area of the Martha Mitchell Expressway and Blake Street stopped a truck driven by Johnson for running a red light.

Reading from an affidavit by Sheriff’s Investigator Michael Musgrove, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer explained the allegation against Johnson.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $25,000 bond for Johnson after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with being a felon in possession of a firearm. She was told to come back to court Aug. 4.
