A Gassville man was arrested Saturday after police were sent to a reported burglary in progress at a business in the 1700 block of South Blake Street.

Ray McClure, 53, the suspect, has had prior convictions for robbery, theft of property, and breaking or entering, Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King said during a court hearing Monday.

King told the court the circumstances that led to the arrest.

King told the court that McClure had taken some tools from a vehicle parked inside the fence.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $25,000 bond for McClure after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with commercial burglary and theft of property. The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent McClure.
