A Pine Bluff man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly attempted to take contraband into a prison unit.

Daniel Davis, 26, was taken into custody by Department of Corrections personnel after he was found in a store at Tucker.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from State Police Special Agent Houston Talley, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said Talley reported being contacted and asked to come to the Tucker Unit following a report that a male was attempting to drop contraband at the maximum security unit.

Talley reported that Davis refused to make a statement.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $20,000 bond for Davis Thursday after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with furnishing prohibited articles.

Davis was told to come back to court Sept. 13.
