18-year-old arrested in connection to Saturday homicide in Pine Bluff

UPDATE:

After further investigation, Pine Bluff Detectives have arrested 18-year-old Kyree Kendrick, and transported him to W.C. Dub Brassell Detention Center for Murder in the First Degree.

UPDATE:

On February 17, 2024, at approximately 1609 hours, Officers responded to 200 East 8th Avenue (Pine Bluff Police Station), in reference to female wanting to make a report.

Sergeant Jasmine Womack, who was already at the station, asked what was going on and the female stated her grandson, later identified as 18-year-old Kyree Kendrick, told her that he shot someone at 2103 Saracen.

Sergeant Womack immediately placed Kendrick in handcuffs and notified detectives.

Around 1611 hours, Officers were dispatched to 2103 Saracen, in reference an unresponsive male.

Officers arrived on scene and located the male, later identified as 22-year-old, Kerry Leneal Hadley Jr., lying on the floor of a bedroom inside the residence with a gunshot wound. EASI Ambulance Service, Inc., arrived and pronounced Hadley Jr., deceased.

Detectives are currently following up on all leads in reference to this incident.

The Pine Bluff Police Department is in the early stages of a homicide investigation following a shooting in the area of L.A. “Prexy” Davis Drive and Saracen Avenue.

Sources tell Deltaplex News that one person is dead.
