$10k bond set for a Pine Bluff man charged with theft of property and drug charges

A Pine Bluff man was arrested Tuesday following an investigation into a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

James O’Neal, 41, was taken into custody by Arkansas State Trooper Shane Caviness who had been tracking the vehicle. A Dodge Nitro, using the Flock camera system, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said during a court hearing Wednesday.

West said O’Neal has several prior felony convictions in Scott County and Garland County.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $10,000 bond for O’Neal after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with theft of property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He said he would hire his own attorney.
