An investigation into a reported shooting in Shady Grove that began in March resulted in the arrest of a man who allegedly admitted to being involved on video.

Police said Nijah Alexander, 20, was initially questioned about the incident when he was detained on different allegations and at that time denied any involvement.

During a court hearing Wednesday, Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King said the shooting was reported on March 10 at 2607 Shady Grove and when officers arrived at the scene, asked if anyone had been shot. A victim later identified as Deandre Carter came out of the residence with his boxer shorts covered in blood and he said he had been shot in the rear end.

King said Alexander said he had not fired shots from his vehicle and no one else had been shooting out of it.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $100,000 bond for Alexander Wednesday after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with first-degree battery, committing a terroristic act, and unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle. He was ordered to have no contact with the victims until the case is settled.
