A Jefferson County man involved in an altercation in late May in Tucker will have to post a $10,000 bond to be released from the adult detention center after a court hearing Friday.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond for Robby Reed, 51, after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with second-degree battery, third-degree domestic battery, and second-degree criminal mischief.

Reading from an affidavit from Sheriff’s Investigator Sandra Harper, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said deputies were sent to a reported armed disturbance at Tucker on May 31.

Reed was arrested and questioned Thursday and admitted going to the house and grabbing his girlfriend but denied trying to drag her out. He also admitted applying a chokehold to the victim but said he did so after a gun was pointed at him. He also denied breaking any furniture.

He was ordered to have no contact with the victims until the case is settled and told to come back to court June 16
