WHSD Approves Considerations, Superintendent Express Gratitude of Support after Recent Passings in Monthly Meeting

On Tuesday July 11th, the White Hall School board held its monthly meeting. 8 items were under consideration on the agenda, and all board members were present this evening. Board President Raymond Jones opened the meeting by giving special recognition to Gandy Elementary teachers Kaley Boney and Andrea Ray on their certifications.

Considerations were made to approve contract for Pine Bluff Psychological Associates to continue providing special education services for students. The next item up for discussion was consideration to approve agreement with Centers for Youth & Families, followed by consideration to approve the board-to-board transfer for two students.

A consideration to approve Resolution for ACT 1105 of 2017 was the next agenda item up for discussion, where Superintendent Williams recommended transferring excess money to a building fund after closing out period 13.

The next item for discussion on the agenda was the Superintendent Mentoring program. It’s an opportunity for new superintendents to receive support from veteran superintendents, which will facilitate growth and development in the position.

 

 

Before the Board went into executive session for consideration of resignations and employment, Superintendent Williams offered words of gratitude and encouragement as White Hall school district continues to move forward followed by the untimely passing of both Coach Ryan Mallett and standout student athlete Benjamin Redix.

The board held an executive session to discuss resignations and employment before adjourning the meeting. During their session, they hired two certified teachers, two classified teachers, one classified resignation, and one certified resignation.
