Every school district in the country is seeing an influx of cash as a result of federal programs that resulted from the Coronavirus pandemic.

The White Hall School District is one of those and according to Superintendent Doug Dorris, the district has already received nearly $2.8 million in two waves, with a third wave coming that will add another $4.8 million.

Dorris said the district got $550,000 the first time around and spent that, and more on things like personal protection equipment.

The goal is to ensure that every student in the district has a chrome book, right down to the kindergarten level.

The district will have until 2024 to spend the $4.8 million that it will receive and Dorris said some of those funds can be used to hire teachers to do, among other things, improve the reading program.
