Now that Andrew Curry has resigned as the superintendent of the Watson Chapel School District, a current member of the school board says it’s time for the district to move on.

Alan Frazier, who was president of the board in 2020 and member of board when Curry hired in 2021 was on vacation when the board, led by current president Sandra Boone voted 4-2 to fire Curry.

Frazier was a guest on the Oldies 1013 morning show Thursday and was asked how the district could move on and find someone to “lead from the front when you’ve got somebody behind them calling the shots?”

Morning show host Greg Horne said “it doesn’t seem like some members are doing that” and Frazier responded this way.

Frazier was also asked if he was worried about finding a good superintendent based on the current situation with two school districts in the city under state control and a lot of critical comments being made about the state of education in the city.

He was also asked what the process will be to find a new superintendent and said this.
